SLI Global Solutions President, Mark Phillips, presented SLI's work on "Leveraging Testing Results Across Jurisdictions" at the 2012 State Certification Testing of Voting Systems Conference. The conference was a two day event June 14 - 15 and was sponsored by Ball State University's Bowen Center for Public Affairs in Indianapolis.
SLI's presentation showed state election officials from across the country how significant cost savings can be gained without compromising integrity when testing voting systems for certification. SLI's work on identifying relevant test results from other federal, state and commercial certification efforts, along with determining results applicability and scope were explained. Real-world examples from several state projects were discussed to show how new certification projects can be designed to maximize re-use to reduce time and cost of testing.
